Lobby of the Cuyahoga County Courthouse
Our dossier has been approved by our agency!! This is WONDERFUL news. We did have one little snag, but Grandpa Norm and Grandpa Ed saved the day. Kaz has been really strict lately with the documents, and our agency suggested that we get a newer copy of our marriage license. (No, we didn't have to get married again. We just had to get a newer piece of paper.) So, instead of taking time off work, I asked my dad to go to the courthouse downtown and pick up a few copies of the marriage license for me. He did fine after he finally accepted the fact that "Remove everything from your pockets" means "Remove EVERYTHING from your pockets." Like I've said before, security guards really are very nice here in Cleveland.
Then, by a fortunate twist of fate, Stan was going to Columbus the next day. So, he took the license to his parents. Grandpa Norm took the license downtown to the Secretary of State's office so that it could be apostilled and then sent it on its way to our agency.
Hip hip hooray for Grandpas! (These are the Youngling's grandpas ... just realized that you might think they are MY grandpas. These are my dads.) Thank you both!
So, all aboard the Translation Train. Our dossier now must be translated into Russian (and I think Kazakh too?). This will take about a month.
