The Nursery Critters

Besides the birds, OX, Mr. Bear, little lamb, bunny, and elephant, there are a few other special animals living in the Youngling's room. Lulu is shown above. She was featured in an earlier post. She is happy to finally have a room to call her own. When we started painting, we moved her to the attic for safekeeping (or so we thought). When I went up to the attic a month or so later, teeny-tiny particles of some kind of black stuff had fallen onto her from the attic ceiling. I brushed one of them off, and it smudged her beautiful white foot! I said, "Oh Lulu!! I'm so sorry. I'll take you downstairs right away and we'll fix everything." She wasn't mad. She was happy to be out of the attic. Since we were painting, I couldn't put her into the Youngling's room yet, so she sat at the dining room table for a month or so. Needless to say, she is overjoyed (at last) with her kid-friendly surroundings.

This is Frog. He is much prettier than he appears on camera. He sparkles. And he has a secret.

This is his inside. He has eaten a ladybug! Ladybugs have come to symbolize the hope of a Chinese adoption. I found my ladybug in a little shop on Market Square in Savannah. It was during this trip that we found out how long the China wait would really be, and as a result, these were the days in which the idea of a Kazakhstan adoption began to grow.

Jacob had a bear version of your lamb & after his bath he loved to sit his bare bum on the bear.
