Nap Time

I have about five minutes to write this post before the spit-up monster awakes. I keep thinking that I hear him whimpering, but then I realize that it's just my imagination.

Charlie has gained a pound since he first arrived in the U.S. He eats like a pig, but Alison (who has a daughter the same age) says that this is completely normal. Our pediatricians agree -- they say that kids from orphanages will play catch-up when they come home and really pack in the calories. They even told us to add extra fat to his diet, like butter or olive oil. Wish my doctor gave me those same orders.

Ok. So the first two paragraphs above were written at 1:30 this afternoon. This paragraph and (hopefully) the ones after it were written at 7:30 p.m. In the interim, Charlie has visited my office, stopped by to see the international adoption pediatrician, fallen asleep in the car on the way home, and peed all over the place as I was changing his diaper. Fun stuff!

Now Stan is giving him a bath and we are both hoping that bedtime goes by smoothly as we would really like to watch Lost on TV tonight. I have a feeling that it's just not gonna happen.
