Well, Charlie, the months are just racing by! You've been 20 months old for quite some time, but I never got around to updating this blog. Before you know it, you'll be 21 months!
You're walking has changed to running. You are climbing onto everything. Unfortunately, your sense of balance and fear of heights are not so strong! You are babbling up a storm, usually all words that no one really understands. Nana is food, and digy is a word for all of the special little toys on your bedroom shelf. Oh, and the pinwheel is also a digy.
I've been pointing at my nose (and your nose and every nose around our house) and saying "nose" for months now. Up until a few days ago, you just smiled a smug little grin every time I did it. (This means, yeah, I know. Nose. Big deal. I'll do it when I feel like it. In the meantime, Mom, you just keep pointing to your own nose!) Anyway, yesterday you DID IT! Today, you did it again -- this time with both index fingers halfway up each nostril. Way to go to town, Charlie!
You recently took your first ride on the Mansfield carousel. You really loved it. In your normal style, you had strangers commenting on how "excited" you were! You are truly the most enthusiastic little guy I've ever seen (except maybe Moe). When the ride was over, you gave me a huge bear hug and several little love pats on my back. You were definitely telling me how much you loved the merry-go-round and the great lady named Mama who took you there.
You don't have a lot of new words, although (as stated before) the babble has increased tenfold. You do say light more often, but that is not a new word. You also began using some baby signs. You can say "more" and "all done." You made up your own sign for "all done." It is the motion of wiping your hands off, which is exactly what happens when you're all done at the dinner table.
Your new favorite show is America's Funniest Videos. You especially like the dogs and whenever someone totally wipes out and falls down. You also enjoy the live audience and all the clapping. You clap with true appreciation, and you look around the room to make sure everyone else is clapping too.
You're pretty much into a size 18 shirt, but you still wear size 9 pants. Your waist (below the belly) has not changed one bit since you came home. You have a gigantic little potbelly, but your shorts/pants always fall below that (like any man).

Look at all of that hair! My goodness he is growing so quickly! It is so awesome to see how well Charlie is loving everything and everyone. You guys are doing a fantastic job! Don't worry...he'll talk when he's ready. He's just taking it all in and will completely surprise you one day. Trust me on this one!
Time sure flys by. I can't believe he is going to be 2 in a couple months!
Wow, look at that beautiful head of hair. And looks like it's got some curl to it. Super cute. Your little boy is growing more and more everyday and sounds like he will start talking really soon. My neighbors boy didn't talk for a while and then all of the sudden he learned to say like 40 words in one month. It's amazing how those little minds works. Charlie is super cute and love to see the updated pictures of him.
That's right, Mich. You just keeping pointing at your nose.
